Winnie Kaburo was one of the three top Chess Kenya Juniors that had an experience of a lifetime at the World School Chess Championship 2022 in Panama. The other two were; Elizabeth Cassidy and Elsie Kamoni. It was their first attendance to a world event.
The three earned the privilege and honour to play in world stage after winning gold and Africa champion title in their respective categories in Africa schools Chess championship 2021 held in Nairobi Kenya at Pride Inn Hotel.
Chess Kenya one of initiative is to create opportunities to give it's promising talent international exposure in its quest to produce first IM.
The HOD Mercy Kamoni said the kids enjoyed the tournament and gained valuable experience that have opened their eyes what they need to work on to be competitive on world stage.
